- What does a FORTIFIED roof cost in Louisiana?
- Two numbers stacked. The base is the replacement you were going to need anyway: $3.75 to $10.00 per square foot, commonly between $8,000 and $15,000 for a medium-sized home, per Southern Home Improvement and Daigle Roofing (contractor-published marketing figures rather than survey data). On top of that, IBHS, the institute that writes the standard, estimates the FORTIFIED features add roughly $1,000 to $3,000 on a typical 2,000 square foot home, with a published worked scenario putting the added features at $700 to $1,700. The evaluator is a separate line at $300 to $600 (an institute-published example, not a quote). A grant round, a tax credit and the statutory insurance discount can each work against that total. - How fast will someone get back to me?
- Your request goes to an independent local roofing contractor, usually within about an hour during the day. That contractor then contacts you to look at the roof and price the work on their own schedule.
